Wisdom River Flyfishing Reveries

When Lewis & Clark traveled up the river they named after Thomas Jefferson, they found a tributary worth exploring near present day Twin Bridges, Montana. They named the river after one of Jefferson's cardinal virtues: Wisdom. The authors contributing to this volume know this water as The Big Hole River in Southwest Montana. And each of the contributors to this anthology have learned lessons along the banks of the Wisdom River that have carried on into their lives. The Book shifts focus in contemporary trout fishing writing from extreme adventure writing and Instagram "trout porn" back toward its more mindful and bookish origins. It is not an attempt to go back, but rather, to revisit the kind of literature many of the authors were reading as they fell in love with living rivers and fly fishing for trout. Each of the contributors brings a unique perspective and voice as they share lessons learned from the time they've spent riverside and midstream in Wisdom River.
