Clayton's on another adventure! You're Invited! "Grampy's coming home!" Clayton shouted to his mom. "Can't wait to tell Austin!" This can only mean one thing - Clayton, Mom, Austin, and Grampy are on another adventure. These lovable, comical characters are at it again - this time on the Cumberland River aboard the Granny Rose, from the Land Between the Lakes area of western Kentucky to Lake Cumberland in eastern Kentucky. Who could have imagined that Grampy had scuba diving lessons planned for the boys' future as he arrived home from Destin? After obtaining their official diving certifications, Clayton and Austin embark on a diving adventure in Lake Barkley to the abandoned underwater town of Eddyville. Here the boys discover a bottle at an Eddyville bank vault with a mysterious message inside from the unknown 'Bass family.' Clayton, Austin and new-found friend, Joanna, distribute their own bottles with messages in them as they travel along the Cumberland River. They wonder if they will ever get a chance to meet the elusive Bass family as a second message bottle from them is found. Grampy, Mom, Clayton, Austin, and Joanna stop in Nashville, the city that has the Cumberland River running through downtown. They take the Country Music Capital of the World by storm, even meeting and singing with some of their favorite singers. Could a CD, video, or Nashville performance be in their future as Clayton, Austin, and Joanna form the 'Country Gal plus 2' band? This latest Clayton River Adventure book is the sixth in the Clayton series, which is targeted for 3rd thru 6th graders. It contains facts about the intentional flooding of Eddyville and Kuttawa and the man-made Lake Barkley. It also contains details about Wolf Creek Dam, the making of Lake Cumberland, and the surrounding recreational area opportunities. Enjoy! You may contact the authors, Linda M. Penn and Frank J.
