Author: Emanuel Dimas De Melo Pimenta

Rene Berger was one of the most important philosophers of the twentieth century. Besides a great humanist, he has been considered the first cyberphilosopher. Rene Berger devoted his life to art, science and philosophy, as tools of world peace. In 1987, he met the architect and composer Emanuel Pimenta and for over twenty years they developed various projects, culminating with an opera inspired by the discussions and experiences on Higgs field and particle. When they met, Pimenta was working with John Cage and Merce Cunningham. Together with Rinaldo Bianda, Berger created the first festival of video art and electronic art in the world, bringing together personalities like Nan June Paik, Bill Viola, Daniel Charles, Francis Ford Coppola, Edgar Morin and many more. In 2015 Emanuel Pimenta wrote "Rene Berger - Knight of the Invisible" as a celebration of the centenary of his friend philosopher. It is a fascinating book, which includes many never published photos, the exchange of correspondence between Berger and Pimenta, the project of the Opera and much more. The book portrays a fascinating historical period of the planet, through the launch of the Internet, weaving an enchanting trip of dream and discoveries.
